FLINT WATER CRISIS – The city of Flint, Michigan, is currently under a public water crisis (Flint Water Crisis). In response, The Lake Region Conference (LRC) Adventists Community Services Disaster Response (ACS-DR) in partnership with the local SDA churches ACSDR departments of both Fairhaven SDA and Eternal Life have established a distribution center to facilitate the donations of bottled water. So far approximately 1,077 cases of water have already been distributed within the month of January. Plans are to continue until the new water lines are in place.
The scheduled distribution times are as follows: Fairhaven distributes Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 11AM-2PM with deliveries to the homes of the disabled and senior citizens. Eternal Life Ministries distributes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11AM-2PM.
For volunteer scheduling and more information on water delivery, contact Debra Davis-Moody, LRC Community Service Director at the clearing house (612) 229-1676 between 10AM to 6PM Monday thru Thursday CST; Fridays – 11AM to 3PM CST; and Sundays – 12 Noon to 4PM CST. You can also reach her via email at dmoody@lakeregionsda.org
You may also call the Lake Region Conference Community Services Department at (773)-846-2661 Ext: 206 during regular business hours Monday thru Thursday or email acs@lakeregionsda.org
According to the Lake Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, the American Red Cross is taking charge of putting together 80,000 water testing kits. The testing kit project includes tasks that can be performed by volunteers under the age of 18, which is a great opportunity for Pathfinders and youth groups.

Most importantly, let us continue to pray for the children and the families who have been greatly affected by this tragedy that God will restore them back to full health and the effects of lead poison will not hinder their future.
